HK manufacturing RAG knowledge base, mainland factories boarding the AI train, and Syspro Torque’s auditable agents: three signals for Hong Kong traders
This page is a short English teaser. The approved news digest is published in Traditional Chinese.
- Hong Kong (working group launched Jan 2026, ongoing): HKAIIA’s Manufacturing & Automation project is building a shared RAG knowledge base for electronic manufacturing order-to-delivery — delay detection, root-cause guidance, and corrective actions — designed to run on open-source models locally so sensitive order data stays on-premises. A working prototype has already been demonstrated on live manufacturing scenarios.
- Mainland China (8 Sep 2026): Xinhua / Economic Information Daily reported traditional factories moving from equipment connectivity to vertical industrial AI models for process optimization and decisions, stressing industry knowledge bases and shared compute so SMEs can board the AI train without building everything in-house.
- Worldwide (2 Sep 2026 launch; IMTS 14–19 Sep 2026): Syspro launched Torque, an industrial AI platform that recommends and can execute approved actions inside existing ERP/MES/SCADA stacks, with full reasoning logs (“glass house”) and no-code agent building for operations teams.
- For mid-size traders the practical question is explainable delays, quote versions, and lead times — not which vendor logo to repeat. A light pilot is enough to start. Funding approval is not guaranteed.
