Policy Address new industrialisation, Guangdong AI service-provider survey, and PMI rebound: three signals for HK traders
This page is a short English teaser. The approved news digest is published in Traditional Chinese.
- Hong Kong (16 Sep 2026): The 2026 Policy Address set out next steps for new industrialisation: an elite-enterprise nurturing scheme (results within 2026), a medium-to-long-term plan within 2026, and consolidation of three ITF schemes into the New Industrialisation Support Scheme. It also reported 80 funded applications and nine New Industrialisation Acceleration Scheme projects. Funding approval is not guaranteed.
- Mainland China (17 Sep 2026): Guangdong’s industry department ordered cities to map AI application service providers and form service teams by 9 Oct 2026, to support AI+ and manufacturing digitalisation. Guangzhou forwarded the notice on 22 Sep 2026. This is a survey, not an award. Funding approval is not guaranteed.
- Worldwide (28 Sep 2026): State Street linked the recent developed-market manufacturing PMI rebound to AI investment, noting stronger capacity use and longer supplier delivery times, with the US flash PMI at 57.0.
- For mid-size traders the practical question is quote speed, document consistency, and explainable lead times — not which research centre or model name to repeat. A light pilot is enough to start. Funding approval is not guaranteed.
